BREAKING:In Ogun, hubby stabs wife to death, bolts as police intensify manhunt for suspect

What began as a typical minor conflict between a couple escalated into a tragic and fatal incident for a woman in Agbure Community in the Ogun Waterside Local Government Area. The 36-year-old woman, Josephine Isaac, was brutally killed with multiple stab wounds to her neck and chest by her self-proclaimed husband, identified as Oju. Oju used a knife in the violent attack and then fled the scene. The victim's younger sister, Isaac Blessing, reported the incident to the Abigi Police Division on March 6, 2025, at around 9:30 am. Despite being rushed to Ibiade General Hospital, Josephine Isaac could not survive her injuries.

Upon receiving the report, detectives from the Abigi Division promptly visited the crime scene, gathered potential evidence, and took the victim's body to the mortuary for autopsy. The investigations are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrator and ensure justice is served, as stated by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Omolola Odutola. The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further scrutiny.

The Ogun State Police Command strongly denounces all forms of domestic violence and encourages residents to seek peaceful conflict resolution methods rather than resorting to violence. The public is urged to report any suspected cases of domestic abuse to the nearest police station or contact emergency lines for immediate assistance. CSP Omolola Odutola assured the public that the suspect is being actively pursued and that justice will prevail.
