The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has strongly condemned alleged cases of extortion and high-handedness by some Nigeria Police Force members.

He expressed concerns during a conference with senior police officers at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

“The leadership of the Nigeria Police Force maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, unprofessional behavior, and misconduct,” IGP Egbetokun emphasized.

He charged senior officers to supervise their subordinates effectively, ensuring high professional standards.

IGP Egbetokun also ordered disciplinary units to conduct routine checks to curb misconduct and corruption.

“Any officer found guilty of leveraging my name for fraudulent activities or extortion will face severe disciplinary measures,” he warned.

The IGP urged citizens to report exploitation attempts and collaborate in policing society.
