Teenage Girl arrested by Police operatives allegedly for stabbing male Friend to death
A 19-year-old girl, Fatimo Agboke, allegedly fatally stabbed her friend, Faruk Azeez, 20, during a heated argument in Ijegun area of Lagos State around 9:20 PM on Monday night.
Despite efforts to rush Azeez to the hospital, he died from his injuries.
The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the victim’s father reported the incident to the Isheri Oshun Division after receiving a distressing call from a neighbor.
“The complainant from Ijegun informed us that his son, Azeez, had a disagreement with a female friend, Fatimo Agboke, which escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight, Fatimo allegedly stabbed Faruk in the neck with a broken bottle, causing serious injuries,” Hundeyin stated.
“Upon receiving the report, police detectives swiftly responded and arrived at the scene, where they discovered Azeez lying lifeless in a pool of blood with a deep cut on his neck. The body has since been transported to Mainland General Hospital, Yaba, for an autopsy.
Hundeyin confirmed that the suspect, Fatimo Agboke, was immediately arrested and is currently in police custody.
He added: “This is a deeply unfortunate incident, and we want to reassure the public that justice will be pursued.
“The suspect is in our custody, and we are investigating all angles to ensure that the truth is uncovered.”
The Ijegun community is reeling from the shocking news of Faruk Azeez’s death. Neighbors and friends are mourning the loss of a young man widely regarded as vibrant and full of promise.
As the investigation unfolds, police are calling on anyone with further information to come forward.
