Story by Iyiola Ayomide
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has discredited the list of fraudulent professors in Nigerian universities that has been circulated in the media, claiming that it was reported by a Lagos-based electronic media and is untrue. L
LThe NUC asserts that such information could not have originated from their reputable educational body without proper consultation with the accredited universities.
Dr. Noel Abiodun Saliu, the Deputy Executive Secretary in charge of the Academic Directorate, stated that the aforementioned information should be regarded as deceptive and baseless, as it could not have originated from the National Universities Commission.
He claimed that the publication should be considered the work of troublemakers who aim to ruin the well-established reputation of the mentioned prestigious institutions and also undermine the efforts of the top regulatory educational organization.
The university's rejection, condemnation, and dissociation from the abominable publication were announced in a statement by Adetunji Adeleye, Deputy Director of the Corporate Affairs Directorate at Redeemer's University in Ede, Osun State.
He pointed out that the individuals listed as professors at Redeemer's University are not our employees and have never been employed by Redeemer's University in any capacity, past or present.
He has notified the public that these individuals posing as "professors" are not familiar to us, and anyone who engages with them either individually or as a group does it solely at their own peril. T
he general received a cautionary advice regarding the importance of being cautious about false information. They were also informed about the need to verify facts by referring to the National Universities Commission, which serves as the top regulatory authority for universities in Nigeria.
