Since assuming office, Commissioner of Police Mustapha Adegoke Fayoade has presented to the public a total of 37 individuals who have been apprehended in recent weeks for various criminal activities.
During the parade at the Lagos Police Command Headquarters, the Commissioner of Police stated that the individuals apprehended represented a diverse group of criminals who committed a range of offenses in the state from December 2023 until now.
These crimes included armed robbery, illegal possession of weapons, cult activities, theft, and engaging in occult practices.
In addition, he indicated that the task force he oversees during the specified time frame successfully retrieved a combined sum of sixteen firearms, which included a toy handgun, seventy-two live rounds, seventy-five live bullets, one used bullet casing,
one magazine for a pistol, six axes, four daggers, five cutlasses, two vehicles, one Point of Sale (POS) machine, counterfeit vehicle registration plates, and assorted talismans.
There were individuals causing fear and distress in Ikorodu and the surrounding areas, including both criminals and members of secret societies.
A few examples of these individuals are Balogun Tola, also known as 50, a 35-year-old male, Tunde Oladipupo, a 43-year-old male, Rasa Ridwan, a 27-year-old male, and Abimbola Aro, a 29-year-old male.
Among the possessions seized from them were a trio of English double barrel guns, a pump action rifle, a model 700 rifle, a locally made pistol, 74 live ammunition rounds, 68 cartridges, a baretta pistol magazine, four axes, three daggers, and five cutlasses.
CP Fayoade issued a stern caution to criminals residing in the state, advising them to change their ways or leave immediately as their time is running out and they will be apprehended.
He asserted that during his tenure, the Command would make every effort within their operational capabilities to reduce crime and criminal behavior to the lowest extent possible.
