The Zone 2 Command of the Nigeria Police Force has apprehended two suspected members of a notorious “One Chance” robbery syndicate operating along the Bonny Camp to Ajah route in Lagos State.

The suspects, identified as 44-year-old Igwe Obi and 33-year-old Solomon Adebayo, were arrested at Ijora Badia Bridge following discreet investigations by operatives of the Zonal Oracle Section under the directive of the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos.

According to a statement issued by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ayuba T. Umma, the suspects confessed to carrying out numerous robbery operations over the past two years. Disguising as a commercial bus driver and conductor, they lured unsuspecting passengers into their vehicle before robbing them of their mobile phones, money, and other valuables.

The stolen items were reportedly sold to receivers in the Ajegunle area of Lagos.

Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate, while the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

The police have advised members of the public to remain vigilant during the festive season, assuring them of heightened security measures to ensure a safe and peaceful yuletide.
