Jide Josiah Jisos, who was arrested for impersonation in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), has been sentenced to six months in prison for impersonation.

Justice Folashade Oyekan of a magistrate court in Abuja handed down the sentence after finding Jisos guilty of a one-count charge.

Jisos was apprehended by officials of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) at Brix Academy in Abuja, where he presented himself as a representative of a non-governmental organisation (NGO) overseeing the examination.

When questioned, he could not justify his claims, leading to his arrest.

During interrogation, Jisos admitted, “I am not affiliated with any NGO,” revealing that he was there to help his daughter take the exam.Following his conviction, Jisos was given the option of either serving a six-month prison term or paying a fine of N100,000.
