Story by Iyiola Ayomide
TRIBUTE TO THE DEPARTED SOUL, LATE MRS BAMIGBETAN FATIMAH AMELE, FONDLY KNOWN AS "AUNTY FATTY" - WIFE OF HON KEHINDE BAMIGBETAN ( ERSTWHILE COUNCIL CHAIRMAN EJIGBO , CPS LAGOS, COMMISSIONER LAGOS, AND CURRENTLY, SA TO HON. DELE ALAKE, MINISTRY OF SOLID MINERAL, FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA)
DIED ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2021 BARELY THREE YEARS AGO AT THE LIFESTYLE CENTER, SEVENTH -DAY ADVENTIST HOSPITAL, ILE-IFE, OSUN STATE, NIGERIA.
PREAMBLE:
In our subconscious minds, a mutual agreement is reached between a man and his woman during solemnization; "One would depart before the other, however our best was put to make her stay alive but God had the final say.” We strongly believe God loves you more.
If it were for kindheartedness, FATIMAH AMELE BAMIGBETAN (Aunty Fatty) is prune, morally upright, pious and affable.
It's evident all over that death is a natural debt owed by every mortal, and not a respecter of anyone, irrespective of who or what you are! It doesn't even exempt Age.
Death is simply a stride or advancement unto eternity, but having realized that all of us are indebted, the puzzle yet baffles as no one could possibly fathom or actualize the cause, medium and the exact time of death!
Oh.. what a world of vanity that we inhabit!
The only conclusive solacement that restores hopes, each time we have nostalgia, to mention a few, are the legacies of virtuous cum caring wife/mother she bequeathed; a quality that's hardly come by now-our-days. Albeit she was short-lived against our human expectation, yet her accomplished assignments in the vicissitude of life - displaying empathy via her humanitarian gestures to the necessitous and up-keeping the family to the nitty gritty in life would remain fresh in memories and can never be forgotten in the annals.
To the glory of God, she had the grace and privilege to witness the family through the tick and thin.. From obscurity to prominence. She came, saw and conquered!
As human that we are, the conclusion we draw after all was that it shouldn't have been now that she (FATTY) needed to sit back, relax and enjoy the fruits of her labors! However, God is the only arbiter and ultimate disposer of all human affairs.
We proposed, God disposed.
We loved her, but God loves her more..!
FATIMAH AMELE BAMIGBETAN, on account of her motherly cum generous stance, was fondly called "AUNTY FATTY" by many. She hailed from Owan East Local Government, Edo State, born into the family of Mr and Mrs Amele in the year 1973, and was loved by all members of her clan, given her charismatic humility and characteristic verve. She's a levelheaded and peace loving Christian devotee. without subtlety or evasion, vast majority are still testifying to her subtle intervention in pacifying disputes, not only amongst friends and families, but also between her husband (kok) and his fellow counterparts, both at work and political space. This gesture often displayed by Fatty in times of discords induced some to rethink and withdraw their malevolent agenda against one another and embrace peace.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they are the children of God!". - Matthew 5:9.
FATIMAH AMELE and her husband (Kehinde Bamigbetan) met for the very first time at her friend's (Louisa) birthday party, and afterwards as fate decided, Fatty was taken down the aisle and both had the nuptials at the Surulere Local Government Registry, December 1998
