The Nigeria Immigration Service in the Federal Capital Territory has successfully detained ten individuals for residing unlawfully in the country.

According to a statement released by the Command Public Relations Officer, DSI Anyanwu Ifeanyi Paul, on Thursday, October 3, 2024, the apprehended individuals include five Nepalese nationals and five Sri Lankan nationals who were all found to be in violation of immigration laws.

The prompt and decisive action taken by CIS BAS PEPPLE, Comptroller of Immigration Service FCT Command, highlights the dedication of CGIS Kemi Nanna Nandap to maintaining the nation's border integrity and enforcing immigration regulations effectively. The detained individuals lacked proper documentation to support their continued stay in the country, leading to their apprehension by immigration officials.

CIS PEPPLE emphasized the commitment of the FCT Command to upholding order and security within the region and reiterated the importance of preventing irregular migration and addressing any breaches of immigration laws.

The Nigeria Immigration Service FCT Command urges all residents to ensure compliance with immigration regulations and to cooperate fully with immigration authorities at all times.

The Nigeria Immigration Service FCT Command continues to be diligent in its efforts to protect the Federal Capital Territory and uphold the welfare of Nigerian citizens.

The individuals who have been detained are currently under custody and will undergo procedures in accordance with the immigration laws of Nigeria.
