Members of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command have apprehended four individuals engaged in criminal activities that instilled fear in the territory. In a statement released on Thursday by the command's spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, it was revealed that the arrested suspects are notorious kidnappers who have been linked to multiple killings and abduction cases in the capital city.
As per statement, the criminals, believed to be bandits, have admitted to planning attacks on various government institutions and residential areas within the FCT. The spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, identified the culprits as Yau Sani, also known as Baba (a former convict), Nuhu aka Giwa, Kabiru Mohammed, and Yusuf Hassan.
Adeh disclosed that the arrest took place at a hideout in Sauka, Abuja where the suspects were residing among the general populace. The suspects further confessed to their involvement in the deaths of seven kidnapping victims in the region. The criminal groups targeted several areas including Dakwa, Dawaki, Aco estate, Dupe Village, Zuma Rock, Kuchiko village, as well as various villages in Niger and Kaduna states.
Furthermore, they guided law enforcement officers to another concealed location in Gauraka Forest, Suleja, Niger State. Here, four AK-47 rifles, thirteen AK-47 magazines, and one hundred and sixty-two rounds of 7.6mm live ammunition were unearthed by the police operatives, as stated in the release.
