Olatunji Disu officially began his role as the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Monday.
In a statement to Crime Watch news, CP Disu acknowledged the security challenges present in the FCT and pledged to diligently work towards enhancing its security situation.
He emphasized that during his tenure, he would strictly enforce a zero-tolerance policy towards any criminal activity or behavior.
Disu stated, "Upon assuming this position, I am well aware of the security issues confronting the FCT and the groundwork established by my predecessors to maintain a certain level of peace. I am dedicated to building upon this foundation and intensifying our efforts to significantly bolster the security environment within our jurisdiction."
Addressing those intent on causing disruptions in the tranquility of the FCT, he delivered a firm message: "Throughout my tenure, there will be no tolerance for any form of crime or criminal behavior. We are steadfast in our commitment to protecting our community, ensuring that law enforcement is both effective and respectful of the rights of all individuals."
