Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has received an extension of his tenure.
This extension follows the 2024 amendment to the Nigeria Police Act, which increases the service years for police personnel from 35 to 40 years, and the retirement age from 60 to 65 years.
Egbetokun’s tenure has been renewed for an additional 3 years. Sources close to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation have confirmed that he has been officially notified of this extension.
