About 157 suspects were arrested by the Kano State Police Command in connection with the attack on several supermarkets at Nassarawa Quarters and looting of public and private property on Thursday during the #EndBadGovernance protest.
Reacting to the violence in Kano State, the government has imposed a 24-hour curfew to restore order and ensure the safety of residents.
Trending videos show the extent of damage in Kano, particularly the attack on multiple motor vehicles at the NCC office, Audu Bako Secretariat, along Government House Kano, were set ablaze.
Sources close to the Police High Command disclosed that in addition to the arrest, an exhibit AK-47 rifle was recovered at the High Court, and a large quantity of looted properties was also recovered from the suspects.
The Police assured the residents that it is committed to the maintenance of peace and security in the state.
