ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERY SYNDICATE AND RECOVERY OF LOCALLY MADE PISTOL|Blissful Affairs Online
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested suspected armed robbery syindicate who has been terrorizing Ikot Abasi village and its environs.
The Command in it’s intensified effort on 1st of July, 2024 at about 02:00hrs arrested three members of an armed robbery syindicate namely, John Okon Anta ‘M’ Michael Osudua ‘M’ and Inyene Joseph Edet ‘M’ who allegedly attacked and robbed one man (name withheld) on gun point and carted away his QLINK Motorcycle, phones, power bank charger.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had earlier robbed two houses at Afaha Ikot Abasi Village and carted away cell phones and other valuable items.
The Suspects has confessed to the commission of the crime and will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
One locally-made pistol was recovered from them.
Efforts is ongoing to arrest other fleeing member of the gang
The Commissioner of Police Akwa Ibom State Police Command, CP Waheed Ayilara has reiterated the command’s unwavering commitment to rid the state of criminal elements and make Akwa Ibom safe for all.
The CP while appreciating members of the public for their continuous support to the command, urged anyone with valuable information that will lead to the arrest of the fleeing suspects to call the command’s emergency lines 090400000065, 08020913810 or report to the nearest police station.
