On Tuesday, the Organised Labour announced that the statewide strike will be suspended for five days.
This pause allows continuous meetings with the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage.
Crimewatchnewspaper learned about this from a person close to Labour leaders.
On Monday, labour leaders successfully met with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, George Akume, and other government officials. They agreed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was committed to a new minimum salary over N60,000.
They also agreed that the Tripartite Committee will meet every day for the following week to reach an agreement on a national minimum wage.
Today, at a meeting with FG Tripartite Committee scheduled by 10 am, Labour suspended its strike. With this development, every government and private office are expected to reopen and function as usual.
