The Police have arrested several members of a syndicate involved in illegal activities, including an Osun priestess, a community chief, an Ifa priest, an Islamic cleric, and a traditional medicine practitioner. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the suspects are in custody and being interrogated.

The leader of the gang, a 33-year-old man named Ademola Akinlosotu, has confessed to his involvement. He initially admitted to exhuming corpses from cemeteries and selling their body parts to ritualists, but later progressed to killing people and harvesting their body parts to sell.

Akinlosotu revealed that he would supply the body parts to a 52-year-old man named Ahmed Wahab, also known as Alfa Bororo, who would then distribute them to his clients. The prices for the body parts varied, with a fresh human head selling for 45,000 to 50,000 Naira, a dried head for 30,000 to 35,000 Naira, a heart for 70,000 Naira, and hands for 50,000 Naira.

Akinlosotu admitted to killing two people, including a friend he met online, before his arrest. He claimed that they would consult an oracle before killing anyone to determine the success and potential consequences of the act. He also alleged that a traditional ruler in Badagry had requested him to kill his own son.

The Police have recovered various human body parts as evidence and are continuing their investigation to apprehend any other accomplices who may be at large. The suspects will be charged to court for conspiracy and murder once the investigation is concluded.
