This disclosure came to light as the board unveiled the results on Monday, painting a stark picture of the academic landscape for many hopefuls.

A whopping 78% of candidates found themselves unable to reach even half of the possible marks, signaling a significant challenge in the examination’s outcomes.

Providing further insight into the numbers, JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, shared that only 8,401 candidates achieved a score of 300 and above, with 77,070 managing to secure a score of 250 and above. Additionally, 439,974 candidates surpassed the 200 mark, leaving a vast majority falling short.

The gravity of the situation is underscored by the revelation that a staggering 64,624 results out of the 1,904,189 candidates who participated in the examination have been withheld pending further investigation by the board.

This latest development from JAMB serves as a stark reminder of the challenges many candidates face in the pursuit of higher education, prompting calls for reflection and action to address the underlying issues contributing to such widespread disparities in academic performance.
