It seems that Dangote Refinery is ready to start producing refined petroleum products after receiving the sixth shipment of crude barrels from the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL).

The most recent shipment consists of one million Agbami barrels of crude oil transported via the vessel MT ALMI SUN.

This shipment marks the final delivery of the initial planned consignment of six million barrels to the Dangote facility, which will commence operations as the largest refinery with a single train in the world.

A month ago, Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited (STASCO), a major trading company in Nigeria and worldwide, delivered the initial shipment of one million barrels of Agbami crude grade to Dangote Refinery. STASCO trades a significant amount of crude oil daily, exceeding 8 million barrels.

Dangote Refinery has been continuously receiving shipments of crude oil in batches since that time.

The latest delivery, consisting of one million barrels of Agbami crude, was unloaded today at the Single Point Mooring (SPM-C2) located at the Dangote Offshore Oil Terminal (DOOT).

The Managing Director of Dangote Ports Operations, Mr. Akin Omole, previously informed journalists at the Dangote Quay in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, that the Refinery would be ready to start functioning once the delivery of the 6 million barrels of crude oil had been completed.
