The Minister, while inspecting the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) facilities in Abuja alongside the Comptroller General (CG) of the Service, Wura-Ola Adepoju, announced on Monday that they are ready to launch.
He stated, "We will commence the training and by January 8, Nigerians will have access to the live and direct solution, providing them with a pleasant and satisfying experience, in accordance with the renewed optimism of the President." "We have successfully minimized human interaction during the process of obtaining passports."
According to the minister, the newly proposed measure will not only improve the country's security infrastructure but also enhance the convenience and satisfaction of Nigerians.
He stated that the government aims to put an end to the practice of individuals submitting counterfeit documents for passport applications.
Additionally, he disclosed that the Service has appointed document verification officers in every local government area of the country to thoroughly examine passport applications.
