Story by Iyiola Ayomide
The Nigerian Army (NA) has become aware of a video circulating on social media that shows the arrest of certain dishonest individuals involved in the ongoing 86 Regular Recruits Intake. These individuals were attempting to deceive indigenous candidates from Lagos State and deprive them of their rightful opportunities through dishonest tactics. The arrest of the fraudulent candidates was a direct result of the NA's dedication to maintaining a transparent and fair recruitment process, which aligns with its core values of integrity and fairness. The video serves as evidence of one of the procedures that the candidates underwent in order to ensure that only genuine residents of a specific state were recruited, using the allotted positions for that state and not for non-residents. The video itself clearly demonstrates the transparency of the process, as the State Representative, who is a prominent member of the recruitment team, was actively involved and granted unrestricted access to verify the candidates' claims of being indigenous to their respective states. The responsibility of the State Representative is to distinguish candidates who are not native to the region during the recruitment process, and this rule is applicable in all other states of the country. We would like to notify the public that the deceitful action carried out by the three applicants, who sought to obtain positions specifically reserved for individuals from Lagos State, is a significant violation of our hiring procedure and will not be tolerated. "We assure the public that a comprehensive inquiry will be carried out to determine the scope of these deceptive actions and to uncover any individuals or unethical groups implicated. Our commitment lies in guaranteeing that only the most competent and worthy individuals are chosen to serve in the NA." The NA will maintain close cooperation with relevant authorities in order to make sure that those who are responsible for this inappropriate behavior are held liable. The individuals involved in this wrongdoing will be transferred to the suitable law enforcement agency. The NA is dedicated to maintaining the legal system and ensuring that fairness is achieved in this particular issue. Therefore, it is our strong recommendation that all potential applicants maintain a commitment to honesty and integrity during the entire recruitment procedure, as any effort to manipulate the recruitment procedure will be confronted with legal consequences. The NA is unwavering in its quest to enlist the most exceptional and deserving candidates for national service. We are grateful for the public's assistance and collaboration as we strive to uphold the credibility of our recruitment procedure.
