DISTURBANCE OF PUBLIC PEACE: POLICE ARREST THREE SUSPECTS

Three individuals have been apprehended by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Shasha, Akowonjo area of Lagos for organizing a street carnival without adhering to the established regulations regarding the use of speakers in public spaces in Lagos State. 





The suspects, namely Julius Osimirin (43 years old), Isiaka Kabiru (16 years old), and Ajewole Ajugba (42 years old), were detained at approximately 12:23 p.m.   on Abatti Street, Shasha while they were in the process of setting up the carnival.   





This arrest was carried out in compliance with the orders of the Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, mni, who instructed the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, to take action against anyone attempting to violate these regulations.    




CP Fayoade previously had a discussion with the carnival organizers, advising them to find a suitable venue for their event and avoid causing any disruptions to the public or blocking streets.   





Once the investigations are completed, the suspects will be brought before the court for prosecution.
