The JAMB cut off mark serves as a predefined minimum score established by the board to signify the minimum eligibility criteria for admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions, including universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
The purpose of the JAMB examination is to establish a uniform standard that applicants must achieve in order to be considered for admission. The cut-off mark, which differs for each type of institution, is determined by factors such as the competitiveness of courses and the number of available admission slots.
The official cut-off marks for university, polytechnic, and college of education admissions in the 2024/2025 academic year have been declared by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). In this regard, universities must have a minimum cut-off mark of 160, while polytechnics require a cut-off mark of 120.
